Carmelite Convent of Santa Teresa

| Carmelite Convent of Santa Teresa |
|
The convent, which is near the Penedo da Saudade, was built for the Carmelite sisters in the 18th century.
After a gap of 40 years, the cloistered community returned there in 1950, making the convent a main focus of the city’s religious tourism. This was due to the fact that Sister Lúcia, the last of the 3 shepherds who had a vision of the Virgin Mary at Fátima, lived in the convent until her death in 2005.
