Church of our Lady of Mount Carmel-Igr. da Nª Sra. do Carmo


The college was founded in 1542. The church dates from 1597 and the adjoining cloister, which follows a Renaissance style typical of 16th-century Coimbra, is from 1600.

The sacristy has a Deposition of Christ in the Tomb by João de Ruão. In the 19th century the college building was given to its present occupants, the Third Order.
