 The Santa Casa da Misericórdia Museum, which occupies part of the mannerist-style Colégio da Sapiência, dated 1593, was set up in 2000 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of this charitable institution. One room houses a collection of works of art from the Santa Casa’s collection; an exhibition space is also available for temporary shows. The chapel hosts religious and cultural events; its tower has a fine view over the city.
